Daniel P. Smith
In 2008, Daniel P. Smith’s debut work On the Job: Behind the Stars of the Chicago Police Department was released by Chicago’s Lake Claremont Press. From WGN to NPR, the book quickly earned acclaim for its introspective look at Chicago’s officers and the human side of law enforcement work. Smith soon took to the road, speaking to various groups about the project, including Citizen Police Academy groups in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Colorado. Believing in CPA groups, their value and purpose, Smith brings his compelling, story-filled presentation to CPAs throughout the country free of charge, and is open to speaking to your alumni groups or serving as an academy class guest presenter.
